Network background
The IPTN formed in 2021 as a collaboration between Dr Hen Wilkinson and Professor Tom Woodhouse (University of Bradford). The network's aim then - as now - was to build an international, cross-discipline, cross institution, practitioner (including tech) / academic network that focused on the emerging development and practice of PeaceTech. By merging the very different perspectives and experiences of network members, we hoped to produce insight and comment on the gap in relationship and understanding between technology and peacebuilding, with related implications for future research and practice.
Since 2022, members have presented at and taken part in a series of national and international conferences and gatherings, including:
- Tech and Social Cohesion conference, San Francisco - Feb 2023 - Hen Wilkinson and Arik Segal
- Build Peace 2023, conference, Nairobi - Nabeela Khan
- Conflict Research Society, 2022 & 2023 – panel presentations by IPTN members Kate Robson Brown, Tom Woodhouse, Hen Wilkinson, Nabeela Khan; Prathivadi Anand, guest speaker Lisa Schirch
- JGI data week 2022 and 2023 – Hen Wilkinson, Arik Segal and Partha Chaudhury
